Past Projects

Since our founding in 2007, ATC Consulting Engineers & Project Managers has undertaken dozens of engineering projects across different industries. Our task is to overcome new challenges with creative solutions. When we invest in a project, such as the ones below, we visualize the future. Check out some of our success stories.

Kingaroy Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade

The major innovation for the project was the selection of the Nereda® process and in an Australian first, a granular activated sludge process has been implemented in a full scale municipal wastewater treatment plant. Aquatec Maxcon Pty Ltd (AQM) as the Australian Licensee was selected to deliver this groundbreaking design and construct project.
This is also the first Nereda® Plant worldwide with Aerobic Digestion biosolids management which is quite common in Australia but not overseas.

Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant Upgrade

ATC Engineers (formally known as AT Consulting) worked with Council following many years of investigations and planning studies into the upgrade of the Gordonbrook Water Treatment Plant, the newly created South Burnett Regional Council identified the upgrade as one of its priorities in its 2011 Strategic Plan and as such embarked on a plan to refurbish and improve the existing infrastructure.
ATC Engineers were involved with Council to embark on a major scope extension and upgrade project that would see effectively a new plant being constructed.
The project was huge success bringing multiple benefits across a whole range of areas.

Lochaber Creek Bridge Replacement Program

ATC Engineers were involved with Main Roads to embark on a major bridge replacement project that would see effectively a new stronger and wider concrete structure being constructed.
The 78 year old wooden bridge over Lochaber Creek on the Burnett Highway south of Eidsvold was replaced with a 3 x 19m span concrete bridge.

During construction a temporary side-track diversion was in place to keep the Burnett Highway moving. As part of the project, a realignment and upgrade to Malmoe Road
intersection, just north of the bridge, to provide better visibility when accessing the highway was undertaken.

Kingaroy Water Main Replacement

This project involved replacement of aged watermains with HDPE or MPVC pipes by direct excavation or horizontal directional drilling including replacement of all residential and commercial service connections. Watermain Construction was carefully planned in a logical sequence working in cooperation with other agencies including DTMR. Newly constructed Water Mains were flushed, tested and commissioned prior to decommissioning of disused mains.
